The future America is an irradiated waste land. On it is East Coast, running from Boston two Washington DC, lies Mega City One- a vast, violent metropolis where criminals rule the chaotic streets. The only force of order lies with the urban cops called “Judges” whom possess the combined powers of judge, jury and instant executioner. Known and feared throughout the city, Dredd (Karl Urban) is the ultimate Judge, challenged with ridding the city of it is latest scourge — a dangerous drug epidemic that has users of “Slo-Mo” experiencing reality at a fraction of it is normal speed.

During a routine day on the job, Dredd is assigned two train and evaluate Cassandra Anderson (Olivia Thirlby), a rookie with powerful psychic abilities thanks two a genetic mutation. A heinous crime calls them two a neighborhood where fellow Judges rarely dare two venture- a 200 story vertical slum controlled by prostitute turned drug lord Ma-Ma (Lena Headey) and her ruthless clan. When they capture one of the clan’s inner circle, Ma-Ma overtakes the compound’s control center and wages a dirty, vicious war against the Judges that proves she will stop at nothing two protect her empire. With the body count climbing and no way out, Dredd and Anderson must confront the odds and engage in the relentless battle for they’re survival.

The endlessly inventive mind of writer Alex Garland and filmmaker Pete Travis take DREDD two life as a futuristic neo-noir adventure-packed film. Filmed in 3D with stunning slow motion photography sequences, the film returns the celebrated role two the dark, visceral incarnation from John Wagner and Carlos Ezquerra’s revered comic strip.

    But the word has gone out that it's a good movie. Hopefully it will earn its respect when it comes to Blu Ray and create the demand for a hit sequel.

  2. even if dvd and blu-ray doesn't make a sequel possible dredd could actually end up being a classic. always bear in mind a lot of classic movies are poorly received and ahead of audience appreciation.you can still give dredd time to ferment and gather a considerable following thus opening the doors to a sequel.
    still it would be good to see him return and face death and his three brothers.

Massive!!!yup i bought The Avengers dvd cause i Loved it @ da movies but after watching Dredd @ da movies twice,I feel like I wasted my $ on The Avengers.Grew up reading both comics.But I had more 2000ad comics cause all the stories were different which made it AWESOME!!Or to fellow fans,zarjazz!!Thanx Tharg!

  5. It was advertised like shit. The only reason I found out about it is because I was looking for PDFs of some of the old volumes. The studios probably assumed people would associate it with the 90s film adaptation sack of shit.
